    Finally got my rifles fully sorted, I think I'm covered on all bases so no more buying/swapping/changing for a while... from back to front

    Blaser r8 6xc, zeiss hd5 5-25x50, dpt suppressor. Scary accurate and set up for varminting/farm shooting

    Tikka t3 7mm rem mag, fluted barrel, hydrodipped carbon stock, vx6 3-18x44, limb saver and stock pack to make things abbot more comfy. 5 into a ragged hole last night is a constant .5moa rifle. Used for High country where longer shots are likely

    And my favourite, Forbes 308, Swarovski z3 3-10x42 with BRH reticle, crazy light, crazy accurate like most modern rifles. It's my hack rifle and will be doing some hard yards in firodland come Thursday.

    You did one thing right: bought 308 :-) and you bought it in a evil semi!. I had one and it was great fun just too heavy for my liking. Looking forward to seeing some dead animals with it aye!

    I've gotta admit this was an impulse buy but after doing some research I think I did well.

    Yeah, every gun nut should have a piece of history like a lever. I've got an early Rossi 92 44/40 that looks like it was made in 1900, patina and stock bruising looks sweet.

If you compared mine to yours does it appear as if I'm missing something?

    The last pic suggests that it is held captive but it isn't, loading the magazine or the motion of a round being picked up from it, moves the plate and the pin just pops out.

    The exploded diagram of this particular area doesn't suggest I am? Unless I'm looking against my eyelids, which has been known to occur.
    @gundoc

    Not sure if the Doc can help?
    The floorplate plunger is retained by a small cross pin. The trigger guard needs to be removed to access it.

    Thought I was complete with major WWII bolt action rifles...but perhaps a MAS-36 from the French could be added...
