Hey all, nothing too flash, my latest toy, a Saiga 415mm in .223, its got a BP02 Balarus scope mount, and a cheapish Millet 1-4x24 "DMS" scope, a recoil buffer, and a "tactical" brass catcher that seems to be more hassle than help The brass catcher tends to cause the shells to not eject properly and cause a jam, so I am planning on modifying it to work better. With it off it shoots flawlessly. Got it out on the weekend just gone to get it sighted in, and it seems to shoot ok, was able to repeatedly hit gongs at 100m with the Hornady training SP ammo. Next on the modification list is to get it suppressed, add a stock pack to increase the stock height for the scope, and lower rings (on order). The rings on it are $10 jobbies from deal extreme, but they are WAY too high.

RE: Badger M2008 , its OK , BUT as we in NZ have to deal with the new high price of US Export permitting & increased level in airfreight charges from the US , I can honestly say , you will be close to the same price as a REAL AI rifle , and as such , at the same price level , the Badger is NOT as good as the real deal .

I say this NOT to put your OFF the Badger , but to give the best advice I can in hind sight .

Given what I have just said , why did I DO it , will I brought them just before the US GovT , changed all the rules , and I got caught out with the change due to delays in trying to export them .

So in short , just order the AI rifle you want from the UK , Sporting Services .

RE; the Norma , I am more interested in the longer 338LM , over the shorter Norma , I need all the powder room , I can get to push the heavy 300gr pills .

The barrel on my M2008 is a Bartlien 1-10 twist , 5R , with a AI AWM barrel contour .

I also own a few AI rifles , as well as these Badgers , so feel I can give advice on both .

Brake is a Badger FTE , similar to the AI design .

I am running 208gr Amaxs at 2880 fps , and they are accurate at that speed .

    Yours Chris

You might want to look into the Norma Chris.

I have been getting very impressive speeds from my Norma, must check but I'm sure its quite a bit faster than the Lapua with the same length barrel & 300gr pills

This is similar to what I had read about it too.

Here's my model 700 in 7mm-08 on a recent hunting trip. Boyds stock, MAE suppressor. Shortened to 20" (as a bush gun).

Here's my rifle. The rings and scope aren't mine though, my rings can be found on Gimp's AR-15 a page back, I think.

Will probably add a Roedale or A-Tec moderator.
