So I have been trying to do something light for my 10 year old who is just getting in to speed steel and ipsc mini rifle. I did look at the S&W15-22 again but I cant get past the fact you cannot get a 15 round mag for them. It's 10 in an acat config and thats it. Not much good for our competitions but I did like the weight..

Ended up making this. It's 1950grams without optic and a bit under 2200 grams with the holosun. That extra 200 grams does feel like quite a bit though.. Still, quite happy. Ended up being about 400 grams lighter than a 15-22 thanks to the light stock and CF handguard. That and the fact I put the barrel in the lathe and removed 200mm off it..

Having the really short barrel does make a difference to the feel of the weight, with the mass back towards the receiver its much easier to hold reload on the move for him.

My latest 338 Terminator, hope to keep it longer than the last one I made myself......

4.160 Kgs, 9.17 lbs so a little lighter than my last one, might need a bigger brake with 300s at 3K+

Looking forward to getting it up the Range in a wee while

    Ken Henderson stock

My 338 Terminator is an improved 338 Lapua magnum improved, uses 108-114 grains depending on powder

Relative velocity is barrel length & make dependent

There's some nasty rumours out there so I thought I'd set the story straight
Perhaps the nicest rifle I've had, my lousy pics don't come close to doing it justice.

    Yawn....
@BRADS did you have to go the two piece Opti's to get the correct eye relief with that model of scope? or is that what it came with?
