Nice one can certainly tell it’s an alpine top notch as usual I need to find a competent NZ stock painter/coater to rid off the bloody carbon on mine you get 100000 points for hiding the carbon I take it that was the finish from McMillan?

Hotsoup,, hey nice build and great choice of components. Any rough idea on long the wait times are for a McMillan stock build/order..???
Definitly fortunate to have Alpine Precision bringing in and giving folk some component choices, for a custom build....

Cheers man! Yep that's standard factory finish on the McMillan.
Blooded it on a PB bull last week at 375m. Dropped on the spot which is always a great feeling. The Pro Ti muzzle brake is extremely effective, mellow to shoot, even for me being a bit 'flinchy'. Overall weight pictured excluding bipod is 3.7kg

I couldn't say @matagouri- it wasn't a particularly long wait as it wasn't supplied direct from McMillan, another supplier had this as inventory from my understanding. I hear costs of stocks is going up too

Nice one mate iv got the pro Ti with cam for the next one good to here some feedback im just waiting for the stock to be made , be interesting to see what it weighs in the end on paper it should be 3.5 with a NX8 or around 3250-3300 with a VX6 or Z6 . That looks brilliant you have chosen well I’d happily own that theirs nothing I’d change in fact the black is very smart and no further comment needed about that stock

Immaculate Ruger M77 Hawkeye in oddball (dead) caliber : 300RCM.
As far as I was able to find out is, if not very nearly the only one, then very actually the only one in NZ.
20" barrel with Leupold Vxi 3-9 LR Duplex.
    Hand-loaders' delight.

@hotsoup I really like the look of that rifle. It really would be the ultimate lightweight alpine rifle. Have you had the chance to weigh it without the bipod on it? I’d be interested to know how many grams it weighed.

    Cheers @craigc
Very happy with the finish of rifle, big fan of traditional looking stocks and steel barrels
It is 3.7kg as pictured minus the Harris. I wouldn't want it lighter then that, especially punching out 215 hybrids. It's very nice to shoot considering. It is now fitted with a picatinny rail and using the mtn carbon bipod

Legend I’d love to see some photos mounted. As I’m sure you were im hesitant to put holes in my stock but it sounds a great product . From the limited pictures iv seen I initially thought they looked abit funny at the top of the legs poking forward from the mount rather than under/part off. Purely aesthetics but aesthetics are important to me when iv got everything else just how I wanted it. Good luck very jealous

The new 7mm saum is great, smithed by our very own jaco goosen. 1-8 twist, 24inch barrel. Feeds great with the Hawkins 300prc bottom metal and magbox. Broke the barrel in on Tuesday, and started load developing. Got 3000 fps with berger 168g vld hunters with rl26. 12fps es between them. Will run that for now until the barrels had around 200 rounds. Then I'll re touch it Name: 20220623_120421.jpg

Nice. Jaco did a .223 re-barrel for me and made an excellent job. Highly recommended.
