Your spot on. The bolt shroud was tagging the nubs on the safety everytime the bolt was worked. A quick bend solved the issue.

Gave two of my rifles a wee birthday.....some have allready figured out what I'm doing with the rifle that shall never be sold...
Scored a mint unfired tikka 300wsm barrel, had Zac at North Canterbury Gunsmithing chop it to 19" and fit it.
Hope to begin load development next week. Long story short i always shot this rifle braked when it was 270wsm but after buying it back i decided to suppress it, unfortunately this ruined the balance and well you just don't chop a 270....i can always go back if I don't like it or i could fit the barrel to a tikka if one comes up cheap.....

Whilst i was there i got Zac to chop the barrel on the wee Cooey i picked up off here the other week to a more user friendly length.
I didn't give him a length i wanted it i just asked him to make it nicely balanced and he nailed it too.

Scope mounted up on this thing today so I can continue load development. Bit of buyers remorse to be honest with the scope they are actually very nice for the money surprisingly nice glass, great turret and zero stop system, great reticle and build quality is good, yet to dial it (I’d get outside and shoot my ladder if it would stop bloody snowing!) but it’s just to big and unwieldy for a nice light pointy rifle

@Ryan_Songhurst I have come to the exact same conclusion with regards to the Burris HD. I can add that mine dialled spot on though. I just find it a bit too chunky but at the same time a wee bit reluctant to sell it because of all the other great features.

Yeap I’ll probably flick it on if something I want pops up or keep it for a gong gun or something be perfect for that . Really struggling to find another Z3 in 3-10x42 or 3-9x36, there’s few places with them listed but phone calls lead to being out of stock. Place reasonably local has one of the Meopta MeoPro 3-9x42 with BDC reticle which I’ve been tempted by, beautiful glass

If the weather plays ball, I’ll be sighting in my overscoped Kimber in the morning. Still under 7lb as pictured.

Nice rig, what cal? Man I’ve fallen in love with Kimbers now they seem to be past that “Kimber Lottery” stage they went through and build accurate guns. Best action out there for a lightweight hunting rifle in my opinion, actually scaled not just lengthways but width also to produce a light but strong action, great triggers, controlled round feed, swing safety, great build quality and machining, nice stocks that handle well. They just don’t get better

They would be better if they made left handed ones.

I’m blessed in that regard as I’m left handed and do everything left handed except shoot, funny thing is I’ve shot pistols a few times and shoot them left handed too but could t shoot a rifle left handed to save myself
