Gun safe key blanks - good source?

    Hi,

I bought a second hand safe with only one key. I thought it be easy to get a spare key cut, however it's turning out to be quite a mission. Everywhere I have tried are not able to source the blank key required. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can try and get a blank from? It's a double sided safe key.

    Thanks

Sometimes its easier to get a new lock and key. Takes the ball ache out of it if its easy to change. Thats what I did with my old safe

Mr Minnit may have them, but depends on the branch and the specific key blank pattern.

If it’s a double sided pipe key, blanks can be hard to find. Similar experience to yours. Doable though.

Yoir safe may have a key code on it.
Go to the supplier or manufacturer with the code for replacement keys.

I purchased a secondhand gunsafe from a locksmith who had to do the same, as keys were lost when the elderly owner passed away.

If its an oddball thing dont expect a locksmith to have the blanks. There's no money in stocking a heap of blanks your only going to sell 1 of every couple of years.....
