Fuck why don't we all buck the system and start trading one on one no licence, just trust? Seems a lot quicker and they ain't got enough cells for all of us. The whole thing is bullshit when we are dealing with criminals, go to that source and deal harshly with that. The media has a lot to answer for in this country, it's become the law breaker, the law maker and the judicial system in so many cases

I am with you all the way Maca but you need to get out and turn some bunnies inside out with that 17 Hornet of yours otherwise you will explode. Breathe man, breathe.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

You are quite correct... but I must be able to make evaluation of who I am talking to before I do that. I have communicated with TradeMe to make sure that they will not be requiring my personal information off me in the transaction, and will not be passing it on to the purchaser... the premliminary response is that they will not be doing that.

The simplest way to solve all this is to just get the purchaser to go to the police station and complete a verification form. That can be sent to your email address that you supply. Nothing else is required. The form completed is retained by the police, not by the purchaser. Simple and as safe as possible. No much extra work...

I use a mailing address for the form, then I am happy to give my address to that officer as long as I know it is the officer on the phone (this is why I ring the station landline and not the cellphone of the buyer while he is there)

Yes it is a pain and a hassle. But safety is paramount. I will be having a face to face with my AO next week so I can figure out a safe way to do these license checks in the future as this knee jerk reaction to a jerk reporter is just making it more dangerous. Its poorly thought out and wont work. It will tie up aditional police resources when they are better spent chasing real crime. (Like fraudulent use of a document to illegally obtain a firearm etc)
Its probably worth noting that the shop is no longer in use as a premises due to quake damage and an ongoing "discussion" with a council that wants a car park there. as such there is no mail and the building is empty.

(It is the only shop still standing and they want to knock it over to make a carpark because there is not enough parks when they finish building shops on the empty lots???????)

Secondly our secure storage is not accessible by a posty and is also not an address so cannot receive mail thus this address is not suitable. I am technically a customer assisting the owner so my home address is suitable for mail but is not the address of the seller.

having dealt with tim albeit indirectly i must say squire i was bloody impressed! I couldnt give as rabbits fart what the so called brains trust think is the 100%solution to the problem ,i just care that they make targets of legit caring firearms owners to appease low life shit heads and ensure the ratings stay high.
I fully intend to have a chat to sis about this -those who know me know who i mean-cause im bloody sure she would be less than impressed with this sort of crap!

I had a missed call on my cellphone the other day, I called the number back half an hour later and some dude from Media Works answered the phone. He wouldn't say what the call was about but wanted a few details so I politely hung up.

The comments in the above link arent all her way are they?

She deserves the full force of the law thrown at her, but of course that wont happen, and probably best it doesnt. If she were prosecuted and convicted, then she would become some kind of a martyr and a focal point for the loony left and anti hunting/shooting people out there to launch more hate upon us.

If her and her superiors got the sack, good, but an official reprimand and a public apology would serve our community better I think.

If there is alternate punishment in the offering then 100 lashes with the rattan would be my suggestion with at least 40 lashes administered to the soles of her feet.

I believe Mr Tipple doesnt have an FAL, his past 'crimes' prevent him qualifying. His sons have the licences? is that correct, if so she cant really have a crack at him? Point of interest if shes not charged at all, she will sit in the same camp as Tame Iti, shooting the NZ flag with a shotgun in a public place and not being prosecuted.
