If I get stuck I will keep it in mind tho. Thanks.

I will get off my ass when back home next and go have a look at some.

There is a 50 on tardme now but it is out of warranty.
@sneeze has one and promised to send it down for me to play with 2 months ago. I think some trail cam pics he has of me has put him off sending it for some reason

Who can tell me the actual warranty period for the Yukon Pulsar devices? The Yukon Optics NZ site specifies 3 or 10 years, yet 1 year warranty seems to be the common conclusion from reading here.
Everything I have with a 1 year warranty, is pretty much stuffed after using it for 366 days, and at the price of these, they really are not throw away devices.

My range finder from Yukon has a three year warranty, I had a slight issue after two years and they replaced it straight away.
    Great customer service

Can you use it to see where pipes are located? I wonder if they would have the same depreciation as computer equipment?

I have played with one a bit, they also reveal you when there is nothing to shoot at in the vaste open spaces you are scanning.
Also as soon as morning sun shines up and warms up the inside of bush or forest, you get plenty of disturbing warm shadows all over the screen.
So much so that sometime you can't make the difference between a deer on a warming slip and it's back ground because the two are at the same temperature.
Water also shows like a warm spot even when super cold outside. So when you are looking down a creek , the warm spot you see through the foliage can be water only.
You can see all the little birds in the trees flying around .
The heat source can easily be blocked by a few dense leafy trees in the way and and you won't see a thing.

Between these and a very good pair of Swarovski or Leica binoculars, I would take the binoculars.
