Thread: Hardy Bi-pod?

I like the look of that furry rest shown in pic above @Tahr .... not sure how you get on with attaching it to the rail, and it probably a bit heavy for most

All round I think the spartan javelin is one of the better hunting bipods on the market. If you want light, sturdy modernised Harris style then the tier one carbon bipod is exceptionally well made. Legs are quicker and easier to deploy than the atlas. Can get a mounting for a sling swivel or a pic rail. They are a bit more expensive though. Buy once though I guess.

Man they take a long time to approve a Patent, so long in fact that they aren't granted before the next model is released & it has to go through the process again from the start...

When you do a proper search you will find there is no Patent Pending...

I wonder how legal the statement "Patent Pending" is when in fact it appears there isn't.....

@Kiwi Greg "Patent pending" means that an application for a patent has been made, and serves notice that copying the product may amount to a breach if and when the patent is approved.

If a patent has not been applied for the "patent pending" assertion could amount to miss-representation under the law.

I clicked your link, yes has a cheaper version.
The ball and lock system is the same as the extreme pod.

I have a Javelin on the way and from what I can tell, all the negative reviews stem from the mounting system. If ou have the proper mount moulded into your stock they are a different animal

Is using one's backpack as a rifle rest suddenly not an option any longer?

Now you've gotta have a fancy schmancy carbon bipod with 3 gears and a hand brake.

Mine is flush mounted but my cripe is the legs always come loose so you need the lever and if you move it side ways just a little bit the bloody leg wants to fold closed.
I'm thinking of changing mine back to an Atlas rail, it's way more stable.

My Javeline is mint, as you say as soon as I mounted the adapter into the stock its rock solid and stable, even on the 300 win mag.

The flush mounted recessed system is pretty sweet, just make sure you get it fairly well aligned. It has the benefit of being able to turn the bipod 180 and it look in place rather than having the panning ability.

@Ryan Songhurst you can epoxy the std mount on to stop it turning or drill a small hole under where the sling goes on the mount. Use a piece off the drill bit to make a pin and drill a small hole in the stock. Makes a locator pin to keep the std mount straight.
