Consider how many rounds you will do at a sitting and annual round count. Over estimate as quieter encourages more shooting. High volume especially semi, mae stainless or similar. Not many, dpt is probably best lightest ive found anyway got one that doubles on my 223 and 308 round count now over 600 and the rear baffle is beginning to look shabby but a replacement is only $50.
Just under 200 rounds of 270WSM through the DPT and the stainless baffle isn't looking too shabby yet.
I vote for DPT as well. Had a couple now and they are pretty hard to beat. Weight vs length vs effectiveness vs price, DPT hands down.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
I'm assuming no need for ear pro for both the Mae or the dpt?
I think with all suppressors you should still wear ear protection when you can (i.e. the range) but for hunting where you are only firing a few shots it's quiet enough that it doesn't matter.
When I got my first one on a 308 I took it out for an afternoon's varminting without ear protection. 50 rounds later my ears had the familiar ringing in them.
Depends on the cartridge. Supers do make a bit of a crack but supposedly MAEs are tested hearing safe. Also from expreience the quietest when shooting sub-sonics.
Also nothing wrong with the Gunworks suppressors for low volume shooting however I must say that I like the idea of the new DPT with the SS section is probably a winner for my next can.
I'm still wondering how a sling reduces Weight
I would also put in a mention of our updated i-model S series SL suppressors:

Go with the SSRNZ or even a ASE Ultra Jet Z, I've used both and they're great!
