Having just started back on rabbit control it’s amazing how many times you open and close a bipod during the course of an afternoon. The problem with this is the springs are so powerful on the Harris it’s second only to a gin trap for finding a main artery in yer hand
You guessed my motivation to perform a spring delete , and I pulled one apart to take the offending items off
I also removed the rear section that holds spring tension and is not required, this took the bipod from 310g to 200g, a tidy weight savings
Reassembling with the leg pivot spacers shortened and screws tightened (add loctite) to provide friction for the open and close sequence - I could see it was going to be much more streamlined and usable
A lot tidier and no more crushed fingers, and a relative cheap way to get a strong 200g bipod.
