Question Help identify my Krico rifle

    Hi all,

I've just renewed my licence which means I need to register my firearms.

Most have gone smoothly but I don't know what model my Krico is. Google hasn't been too much help.

Photos below. It clearly has a 62 stamped on the left hand side, I'm guessing that's the year. No model number that I can make out though. Serial number is clear, 84288. The magazine says "Automat 80000/90000. Semi auto with a bolt handle you can turn to make it single shot apparently, haven't actually tried this myself.

Anyone got any knowledge to share?

Krico 300 maybe? I've read that if you email Krico direct (contact details on their website) with photos and a serial number they're usually responsive.

Its a model 260, made in 1962. They came out with a detachable magazine, 260 and a tube magazine, 230. The 260 with walnut is 260A and the beech stock is 260EA
I think it was later models that could be switched to single shot. You can identify them by taking a look at the bolt handle. They will have a "S" and a "F" on it. It was a design unique to Krico at that time. I was pretty sure, yours been 62 would not have had it, but there you go.

Good info here chaps. Have had a few Kricos & still retain one model 300 bolt action.
Nice rifle in the pix, should serve you very well when you get to try it.

Thanks for the responses all. I had a look at the bolt handle and it does indeed have F and S on it (pictured below).

I'll keep the advice about the magazine in mind although I wasn't planning on misplacing it

I look forward to giving it a try sometime soon.

Unsure but when you turn it on a closed bolt it seems to lock it shut

One of these other knowledgeable fellas will probably know more

This is all I could find. From what I am reading it is simply a further safety feature.

Does anyone have a manual for Kricos? Mine's a .22LR bolt gun, model 320. Lovely rifle.

I do not have a manual, this schematic is all I have for your particular rifle.
