Higher end scope choice: new ATACR F1 4-16x42 vs ??

Scope Purpose: LR shooting target/hunting to 1000y

    Rifle: Custom built lightweight 260AI.

ATACR (30oz) with ED glass ca$3k landed...probably no one here has this scope but given the above would there be anything comparable to be considered with the features??

Yes agreed...4-24x....I like external turrets and not sure about CDS. I wish Leica made a higher mag, had a play with a 2-12 ERi and very impressive, especially the lock on the turrets.

They did a 3-18 ER but dropped it with the ERi. Shame.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

That would have been ideal. Not keen on the mk6. Needs to be MOA without a fugly reticle...the MOAR is v.nice.

I agree with that. Don't really need 34 mm tube when you only need between 30 and 35 moa to reach a1000m from 100m zero.

If scope manufacturer carry on doing stuff bigger and bigger, I predict a 5x80 x100 tactical scope with a 50mm main tube ,200 moa adjustment within 5 years ;-) for $9000

True. The Nightforce with ED glass should be approaching Euro scopes I hope In clarity.
