Hik Micro Alpex 4K NV scope

Hi, I recently bought a Hik Micro Alpex 4K LRF Night Vision scope at the sika show. I have been setting it up, and have sighted it in at 50 mtrs ( Too windy and bad light conditions to do it at my normal 100 mtr zero) for my Tikka 17 HMR. All sighted in with 3 bullets on top of each other in the bull at 50 mtrs when completed. I have just put the Ballistic data in, and found an issue. Under the category for Bullet, it just has G1, G7, and GS rather than a bullet weight, which of these should it be selected to? There is nothing in the user manual about this. I have selected G7 but no idea whether this is correct, and what it means.

When I use the laser range finder, it only shows the laser range finding box at 3.5 power which is the lowest magnification.

If I zoom in to 7 power the laser RF box disappears off the top of the screen, so I cant range at any magnification other than 3.5 power. The laser range finder box is well above the center of the reticle
at 3.5 power. Cant find anything about this in the user manual.

Does anyone know how I can get the range finder box to move down below the reticle, so that it stays visible when magnification is
    zoomed in above 3.5 ?

G1, G7 are just different ballistics models. Each will predict ballistics slightly differently, so just a matter of experimenting and seeing which predicts the most accurately for you ammo/ rifle combo.

Can't help with the LRF issue, I am able to use the LRF on my Pard and Zulus at any magnification so don't see why it shouldn't on yours. Hope you can get it sorted.

You also need to match the ballistic coefficient for your ammo with the chosen ballistic model. Coefficients are available on the web for commom ammo for each of the common ballistics models G1, G7 Etc. You're welcome to PM me if you want further guidance from an amateur

G1 is what you’ll be wanting to use. Something like Hornady 15 gr bullets have a BC of .115 which will probably get you in the ballpark. Don’t know about the rangefinder issue. Have you downloaded the complete manual from Hikmicro website, might be more info there. Otherwise check with outfit you bought off.

For the range finder what you describe is a common issue with the Hik Micro Apex. There is no way to shift the range finder icon on the screen. So in order to range a target you need to go back to the low magnification, take the range and then increase the mag to take the shot.

Well that is a bit of a pain when I am shooting out to 180 meters at times and 3.5 mag is hard to see if you have the box exactly on the rabbit where I want it. Hopefully they will do a firmware update to fix this.

Do you have a 20moa base on your rifle if not you have a problem with the base or rings .
I have 2 of these scopes and I at least get 7x with the laser box

Some of the air rifle mob use adjustable scope bases to align the scope body with where the laser box is so they can roughly have it where the crosshairs are I figure on a center fire or a 22 this system may be susceptible to movement what it means is you have a very misaligned dovetail or screw holes in your receiver not much you can do about it other than adjustable scope brings like the burrus
