Keep hounding them for insurance payout, however I thought they only cover up to $2000?
They damaged a scope I sent once and took me 2 months of constant ringing to get $1000 out of them.

There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
Huh?
On the NZ Post list of prohibited items, it has firearms or firearm parts. Call it something else all you like, a rifle scope isn't a Theodolite and we all know that. They don't even have to return it to you or provide any cover for loss or damage.

The policy is misinterpreted by DHL. A scope is not an integral firearm part.
What a load of horse shit. Glad it's not me sending or I would have well and truely lost it.
Prohibited or not, they have lost the damn thing. They need to find it. Pronto.
Good luck, sounds like you're going to need it.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
That sucks.
Reading the list of restricted items and the reference to the scope it is not an integral part of the firearm it is a part that can be added. That would be like saying a telescope is prohibited because you can strap it to a gun.
Hope you get the money back and a new scope!
Sarcasm: lowest from of wit, highest form of intelligence.
Bank cards and credit cards and stamps appear on the prohibited list, any one get theirs in the mail recently? They dont know what they are doing clearly
UPDATE. The scope is delivered to Queensland Gun Exchange....who have sent me proof of life
So...no problem sending as theodolite. NZ Post completely confused matters when I got a second call saying they returning it as prohibited (when I had already collected and reposted)...anyway too hard to explain.
Next update on the solution hopefully.

Well done, I had a similar moment sending stock to Norway, got told it had been turned around in Germany, but it ended up in Norway. Hugh sigh of relief by two people.
Yep. They have suggested replaced with a demo as easier for their accounts people. I have said no a demo has less resale value for me and the scope was as new as the day they sent it so should be replaced with same.
Good to see the warranty is going to be honoured. The blow off valve must have been close to venting when they offered you an ex demo after all the f@#kn around.
Was pretty close but they have been great - NZ Post....not so much.
Still not resolved. Keep promising claim updates...but got none. Sent email below:
Hi – please pass this email on to someone within your Executive Leadership Team that has the ability to respond.

I have been waiting months for a resolution to a parcel lost via engagement of your company. I received no tracking number, no invoice, no question regarding insured value, and repeated assurances all was ok when it was apparent something was amiss. I was told my parcel was “with customs”, would “arrive Friday”…and then finally confirmed it was a “disaster” as the parcel was lost (not to be seen again). I duly filled out a claim form and now receive responses to my update requests along the lines of “I’m chasing up the insurers”, “nothing heard yet will keep you up to date.” Understandably with the lack of documentation I am concerned the parcel was stolen.

No updates on ETA of claim have been forthcoming and your company’s approach appears to be one of attrition with customers when ‘resolving’ such an issue. The documented value of the item is AUD3000, and I welcome you taking ownership of this issue and sorting it out or letting me know you do not intend to as I will then pursue an alternative approach.

I have been dealing with Adam from your Brisbane office and have copied him in to this email.

Did you end up getting this sorted? @Tikka7mm08
