Thread: Howa mini 1500 magazine problem

Have found an outfit in the states making bottom metal for Howa mini actions BUT they won't ship outside USA.

Thought you could choose mag or floor plate when you buy it

Couldn't get anything but plastic when I brought mine, can't find any bottom metal available here. They are $110us, by the time a retailer had them here you'd be in for $300.

DIP Incorporated, it's a metal copy of the plastic Howa bottom plate and trigger guard, uses Howa mags but has a much better mag release system.

Kinneys have them and they ship to NZ.

These plastic mags seem gimmicky

Atlas worx are working on a solution to the Howa mini bottom plastic/ mag solution atm.

Got an alloy magazine base plate from Kinneys, cut a 10 shot mag for a flush fit, only holds 3 rounds. A bit of a roughy but works.

So you still have to use that shitty mag catch with the alloy base... shame they didn't come up with a better flush system.

Yes, thought it would come with a catch but no, Only thing is the tension on the spring is greater due to different angle for the spring retainer, plus there is a grub screw that retains the mag release pin. Don't think they can make the base flush without designing a new mag. Still like this idea better than a floor plate as the action is so small I find it near impossible to load mag thru the breech.
