Howa Mini EXCL Lite Chassis finally here?

    Hey Howa Mini fans!

Doing my usual weekly search of the inter-web for the Howa Mini EXCL Lite Chassis (of which we have been waiting for since mid 2019) and come across the below dated 20/07/2020!

    https://55six.co.nz/blog/ultralight-...a-mini-action/

A quick email to Ken to find out how soon 'soon' is, and the response was, before the end of the month and the estimated price is very reasonable!

Have my name on one, doing my best not to get my hopes up! But damn I am excited to give this a go!

Apparently a light polymer stock/chassis but if it doesn't have an aluminium bedding block I will pass (and at that price it probably doesn't).

@zarathustra why would you pass if it doesn't have one? Surely it must have some kind of bedding block

Won't be any different too any other plastic stock out there. Also for lighter recoiling calibers so probably not as much an issue

It could be just pillar bedded which I consider still requires a Devcon bedding job. Out of every model action I have bedded, I personally find the Howa action the most difficult due to its front action bolt going into the bottom of the recoil lug. Unlike other actions that I give a bit of clearance with tape around the sides, front and bottom of lug, the Howa requires the bottom of the lug to be right against the Devcon and pillar. I've bedded 4 of my Howas over the past 2 years and each one I had to redo 3x until I was satisfied...
Also if I'm going to buy a chassis I want an Aluminium forend....not another 'Mr Floppy'.

@zarathustra all fair points, so agreed, this stock isn't marketed towards you. The MDT or Oryx are more down your ally. But for those of us who are not overly fussed on the chassis side, and want a lightweight alternative vs the standard stock ( 500g vs 1kg ), without spending the money on a Carbon Fiber stock, which also does not have alloy bedding, this option is perfect!
