    HW35 Air rifles

    Hello Guys

I was looking for an air rifle with a good trigger, mainly for practising offhand shooting . . . and an HW35 has come up. Thoughts ??

From the online "info" it looks to be ideal for my purpose.

Any ideas on value, there was one of TM a recently that sold for $300 - does that sound fair??

Brought a new hw30 in December last year, fitted with a match trigger fitted for $300 from the importer.

The HW35 has the record trigger. $300 is a good price for one in okay condition. They were better made than a lot of .22 rimfires. The E version is a little rarer and had more power from the factory.

    Serendipity.

An HW35 from about 1972 fell into my gun cabinet for a very modest sum. Its got a lot of "safe scars" but I doubt its been shot much. The Breech seal was goosed but I made up a temporary one. The trigger is superb, better than most centrefires straight out of the shop, light, crisp and very consistent. Even with it's old technology leather piston seal its shooting 10mm groups at 10M (too windy here to go outside and thats about the limit inside my shed). Scoped its a hefty beast but very nice to hold and point.

Should have gotten one years ago . . . .
