What exactly is wrong with the .270?

Im relatively new to hunting and got a rough but solid .270 for my 1st rifle.
Most of the people i know with rifles have .270s
And the only times i've been let down by the rifle/calibre is has been through my own fault (GOD DAMN BUCK FEVER!)
I agree with VC. There is nothing wrong with .270. I have two of them and have found them to be a good calibre that is capable of doing the job on any game animals in this country. That said, the calibre is probably a bit too big on smaller game like fallow deer etc.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

I Agree with you Bill999 .270 and .243 are all good strong reliable and cheap rifles. I have been shooting Samber with .243 latley well placed shots no problems at all.

Graham Henry thought the 270 was perfect, said "Why would he change to anything else when you're already married to Miss Universe ?"

The old Forest Service official calibers were .222, 308 and 270.

yep, put the lead in the right place and they all kill.
But being a lousy shot like me, big with exploding projectiles would work.
