    I need a new rifle

I made the mistake of lending my bush rifle to my brother in law for a few months and he has managed to completely fuck it. The good news is he is maning up and selling his toy car to pay me back.

I'm sorted for long distance rigs and takedown options so what do people recommend?

Parameters, while I reload ammo must be commonly available off the shelf if need be. I like .308 but am not stuck on it.
    I want light and short.
Total spend including optic and can, would like it to be under $5k (I'm not getting paid out that much so less would be good!) but if there is convincing argument for more I'm open to it, I have a vx3 2-7 that could be used as a place holder while funds get saved.

In the past I have had custom remington stuff but am very happy to try others.
Have used a ti remington action before but found it way to sticky for a bush gun! I'm not sure if this is just a remington issue or if it's a std thing with all ti actions?

Other than your username can you justify that in any way? Shortning a fluted barrel seems like it could present some issues to start with.

I do like how short they are, or should I say how long the barrel would be once cut to just over legal length-making life a little easier on the can.
Not the lightest tho, I do suspect that to get the weight down could blow my budget.

Who would want a LR rig and a bush gun rolled up in one system?
    It makes no sense 😆

Correct, barrel length and scope needs are so different that to do it would require making sacrifices

Hmm, had not thought about that caliber at all.
Do like the idea of a leaver action for the bush as what is getting replaced is a blr

A pitty that kimber on tardme closes so soon as could have been an option. I need to get the $ for my old rifle before I can buy a replacement.

Off to look into the black bear.

Don't know how true it is but have been told the kimbers are hit and miss groupings wise?

A 24" barrel on a Blaser is equivalent to a 20" barrel on any turn bolt.
So a standard length barrel is shorter still.
I just swap scopes and after the 20 seconds it takes me I am ethier shooting steel at 1000 or happy as poking around in the bush.😉
