As has already been pointed out I reckon some 2208 could improve on that. A 150gr LRAB being launched at 2600 would hold 1000 ft lbs to 650 yards... hmmmmm
I wonder if I should do that to my finlite? But not know what it would be like threading on the fluted barrel.

You could measure the flutes with a caliper and a couple of ball bearings or steel shot and subtract the ball diameters and bore diameter then divide by two to get your wall thickness at different parts of the barrel to see if it is feasible.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.

308Win One chambering to rule them all.

Asuming your finn is a 270, maybe wait untill I have a chance to hack up this T3 before you go wrecking a perfectly good Sako

My idea of a pig is something that is short and handy and has close range smack over but can still stretch to 2-300 if required. The old 308 can be loaded in basically any weight pill so you can have various loads depending on the quarry. I havnt shot enough stags in the roar to take a chance on a pissy little slug maybe doing the damage

OK that sounds great someone has to be a lab rat and give it a go, my Finn still shoots sub MOA even with 2500k-3000k of fairly hot loads down the tube.

I've got a Sako 270 that is collecting dust and want to rebarrel to a 16" .284. I like short barrelled rifles now after using my 12" 300 blackout. It's smoked over 57 deer now, head shot a deer 251m with Subs and 300m max distance on deer so far with 125gr BT supers.

I would be happy with any 16" or less bush pig from 308, 7mm-08, 284.

    Here's my pig
No we are not really aloud centerfire semis over hear. Just a bolt gun.

Yep not problem to thread into the grouve of the flute, in most case 14x1 fits , just, otherwise 1/2-20" .

@Ryan_Songhurst what happened to the momentum on this project? Did you go with that 270 after all?
I've got an itchy wallet finger and need to sort out a bush basher too...

Sweet. Think I'm going to go along the lines for carving up a 260 of some sorts.
