I'd still go for my 223, though I may be tempted to go for the 243 now I have a good load worked out for it.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

Like R93, I have what I would keep in the safe already, 2 barrels to choose from 223 and 6.5.

I'd cry if you were only allowed one firearm fullstop (including rimfire/shotty). Is there talk of such a law happening?
Some killjoy assholes want NZ to match OZ and their restrictions purely because OZ has tighter laws, so ppl will be "safer". Reality is despite there being little or no evidence it will change anything.

The Green's have a line in their justice policy,

"Make private ownership of fully functional semi-automatic weapons illegal. - See more at: https://home.greens.org.nz/policy/justice#sthash.zI2pLl7t.dpuf"

Quite what a "fully functional semi-automatic weapon" is as opposed to a non-functioning? or maybe semi-functioning semi-automatic weapon? is I am not sure and I suspect neither do they. What worries me the wording could in effect include all semi-automatic weapons.

    and then there is this,

    https://home.greens.org.nz/speeches/...-amendment-bil

"I just, in closing, would say that the Greens have some views on other matters about gun use, gun ownership, and gun control, which we would like to see Parliament bend its mind to on occasion, but that is for another day."

Just what their views are I cant find.

Unless some of the 250,000? licence holders in NZ are retarded, they will be alienating 1/16 of possible voters.
Not a very smart campaign to me.

The greens and the majority of their stoner, hairy legged, non meat eating, tree hugging constituents are what's wrong with this country imo. Weak as piss, in all aspects of society.

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

The greens are a bunch of crackpots who more harm than good, thankfully intelligent people who are capable of rational thought see through their p.c feel good fluffy crap.hence why they will never be any stronger than they already are politically.

You only have to look across the ditch to see what happens to crime rates when you restrict good honest people owning firearms, all violent crime rates skyrocket.

Then look at the u.s city of Chicago where concealed carry was recently legalised, murder rates at a 56 year low, burglaries down over 20%

If you outlaw guns, then only outlaws will have guns

I would probably get a t3 for the marvelous long action but chambered in a short action cal like 243 or similar that love proper length barrels and cut it in half to put a suppressor on and a laminate stock to take the flex out then when I finally worked out I had ruined it I would put it on trade me for new price and go buy a Sako 308.

Yeh. I'd go Sako 85 Finn in 308. Although I'm doing a door knock @R93 house soon to raid his whitebait stash and see these Blasers. They are obviously nice.
But bejesus there's some issues out there @steven. @kmak. Buy a Sako and stop being a killjoy asshole.
