Padlo - remember I mentioned to you a mate has a Howa in 7mm08 for $499. Few marks on it but excellent caliber and accurate rifle. He can do a medium grade scope for you also for $250 or so - Burris or similar. Now that's a package..
or just upgrade stuff on your existing rifles if you like what you have plus you don't have to explain a rifle that wasn't there before if that's an issue
I'm off Howa. Accurate yes but it's the only rifle I have ever owned that rusts like it. I have several firearms in my cabinet and the howa is the only one rusted. My old blued rifles were easier to keep rust free than the howa.
My blued Howa didn't rust at all with just a lick of oil over it occasionally, the "stainless" one was a rust magnet though.
Mine is stainless.
If I had a grand burning a hole in my pocket, I would save it and put it towards some good binos, thats coming from someone who has bought and sold a shit tonne of rifles and scopes and all manner of bits and bobs.. the one thing that I bought and still remains in my kit was a pair of Swaro EL's, have never felt any kind of need to change them whatsoever and they are your number one hunting tool, you will spend a lot more time behind your binos than any rifle or scope you will ever buy.
