    Stay off the ridgeline.
The only good assumption is to assume that movement, shape, colour, sound, is always human. Follow this rule and identify your target.

FYI I just received a replacement turrent cap for my Schmidt n Bender. Import permit is not required.

Also the recent change in import policy (around last month) removed the scope from the part list which requires the import permit.

If in doubt, get a permit. No cost, just a bit of your time.

It is really not that hard, and might just save you hassles with customs...

Get a form from your local Arms Officer, or better yet, download the template and complete it digitally and email it to the AO.

Yeah this is what I heard. Better to get a written confirmation from permit delivery group if you want to do so. Custom and NZPolice are two separate department..
