"Rainier Arms
I'm about to, when my permits get reprinted with Rainier listed as the supplier instead of Brownells.
Got a reply from Rainier if I was to order say two magazines
"I’m not too familiar with NZ regulations but thank you the clarification.
In either case, two Pmags will go under ITAR $100 exemption.
Please provide me with the following:
1) A photo copy of your Government issued ID and credit card, front and back. This can be done using a mobile phone
2) Complete the ISAF form
There will be a $50 processing fees for all international order. Here is an example:
Total Cost = Product(s) + Processing fees ($50) + Shipping Cost + [Landing Costs: Duties and Taxes]
Your package will ship via FedEx Express and will have to clear customs. [There will be landing cost (duties and taxes) from your government which you will be responsible for]. If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thank you,
"
$50 processing fee for non-ITAR controlled orders
$60 processing fee for ITAR controlled orders under $100
$350 + 3% fee for export license orders
Only worth it if you're going to order as many mags as you can while keeping under the $100 limit.
If you're just wanting two mags, it'd be way cheaper to get a different brand and buy them from Brownells (no $60 fee).
I got this quote for 5 x 40 round pmags from Rainier.
"$94.75 for Pmags, $60 proccesing fee, and $40 for shipping. Thank you"
Do you need an import permit to import 20-30rnd mags in to the country?
For a MSSA, yes. For a manually operated A cat, no, but you'd need to prove to customs that the mags aren't for a semi, with an import permit or email from your AO.

The Gen 2 Spear Mags are looking better and better with all this drama required.
Welcome to Sako club.
There is actually no drama, unless you are a Magpul fanatic. I like P mags but there are alternatives (Lancer).
I personally really like H&K ar mags-no US export issues as well

Even with the $60 fee pmags work out to be about the same price as alternatives.
The problem with Rainier is they ship Fedex and Fedex suuuuuuuuuckkkkk in New Zealand. They lost not one but two import permits I sent them on different occasions.
Ok on a slightly off topic note. I bought a hand guard from brownells ($80) and some dies ($45) they are in customs "held for clearance" do i need to do anything?
