    Importing Scope

For those interested - Ive just imported a 'scope from the States (Cameraland NY).
Burris Signiture HD 3-15, duplex, non illuminated (open box special). Landed cost to my door $697.00 (NZD).
    Left US 27 March.

No paper work. No questions No hassle. Nice 'scope.

Are Cameraland not putting NZ GST on

Some overseas businesses - especially those with no physical connection to NZ - are not charging/collecting GST.
Duty for under $1000 isn't collected by Customs.

So the purchaser can legitimately avoid GST if no-one wants to collect it.

Seem to have. I just wanted a medium price 'scope with a bit more top end to put on my/Grandson's shared 7-08 rifle. Its worked out well.

They are are good value (even if bought in NZ) the Signature HD. Made in China - but hell, their technology is pretty good. They can do stuff the rest of the world can't. Like sticking a vehicle onto the dark side of the moon.

There’s no GST or quibble at the border if the value is less than NZD 1,000. All of this is clearly explained on the Customs website. There’s a calculator on there that you can use to doublecheck.

It works because I have recently been importing various auto parts from different countries, landed value inclusive of shipping of less than NZD 1,000 and had zero problems.

There is no Duty on scopes
But any Company that is doing more than 60K pa (I think that is correct) is meant to add NZGST before shipping charges at checkout

    Must have changed it
Was 400NZ$ or $60 collection (so if it was 410NZ$ for eg it would incur more than 60 - if it was a clothing item - less than 400 because Duty would be added before the GST calculation)

Yes - the Signature range are very good scope sub 1K
My price on that SKU# 200532 3-15x44mm Plex would be 550NZ$ landed before any GST/Clearance internal shipping
Only 25$ more for the illuminated which is a bit odd
