I have a Kahles Helia 6S in very nice condition apart from a "hairy" or fuzzy reticle. It's quite usable as it doesn't bug me but what's the long term prognosis for it - will the reticle break?

Been there. Your scope has a silver wire reticle and it’s corroded. Kahles will repair it but it can reoccur. They did mine twice.
Your better to fix it, and decide whether you want to replace it with a model with a etched glass reticle.

Kahles refurbished my similar vintage scope free of charge and where very apologetic about the inconvenience. Worth getting in touch with them.

Here I was thinking - part the hairs and look for the cli... No, I promised I'd be better (and it's not like I was the only one thinking it I'm sure).
