From my research it looks like they are now made by a third party and the QC is terrible.

I'll be keeping the rem mag, I am thinking of selling the 6.5x55 tikka and .223 CZ and buying 1 nice rifle (Montana or maaaybbe Sako) in say 6.5x47, I like efficient cartridge.

Mind you Pointer has promised me a barrel but failed to deliver thus far - 6x45 if I did that I would probably consolidate the tikka + scope and scope from the cz into a really nice scope IE VX6 or Diavari.

The rifle only needs to be capable killer to 300 yards.

Yep pretty much, quality over quantity. But I've just shot so many deer with the 6.5 I'm not sure I want to sell it

Go the 6x45 mate. I love mine as it's cheap to run, kills extremely well and very very accurate. I use it to 300m with the 75gr HP Sierra and Bryn from Targex is squeezing together some 80gr for me to try

This group was shot off a sniperpod at 100m in less than a minute to see how barrel heating might effect accuracy. Bloody happy with the result! Shot 5 may have been me but not concerned either way.Name: Kimber Adirondack (11).jpg

Base rifle is standard, I've added a titanium fluted bolt handle (original weighed 1oz this weighs less than 1/2oz) in a Mountain Ascent style. Talley low rings and a vx3 2.5-8x36 with S.O.D from @7mmsaum. 2.14Kg's and bugger all recoil!

Bloody nice wee rifle there mate. Out of interest how is the eye relief and eye box on that scope? It's fucking shocking on the new VX3i's.

Just measured relief and I have the scope 5" away which works great for me. Just a very fine ring is all I can see, not a heavy dark ring.

Since Kimbers are supposed to be shit shooters I thought this one would be priceless then! Go by the weight on the scales as I cocked up the text and can't edit it!
