    Kimber stock, remove the goo?

Hi Kimber owners. I've recently taken ownership of a new Kimber hunter pro. Has anyone removed the goo then regretted it? Does it make the stock sound like sh!t?

    Currently sitting at 3.3kg with vx5 3x15 and A-tec optima45 suppressor.

    Cheers in advance

can't answer the sound issue but if it did you could always re fill with expanding foam, surely that would be lighter than the goo and deaden any hollow sound a bit ?

I removed it, just chucked some soft packing foam back in there. Was about 10 grams worth to fill the stock. No noticeable noise difference in normal use.

Knocks off 250 ish grams from memory?

I removed mine about 3 years ago from behind the butt stock and under the pistol grip. Lightened it by just under 250gm. I never bothered to put anything in to empty space as I have had a number of rifles with nothing in the stock and no problems. The noise is nothing noticeable have checked it out with a mate and he couldn’t hear anything beyond 10m. Shot plenty of deer since out in the open and in the bush. Love having a light handy accurate rifle.

Yea I removed the gel from mine. Saved 200 grams and haven't worried about any extra noise. Use it bush stalking and it does sound a little hollow if you give it a good knock but I'm usually so careful not to make noise that it's very rare I notice it. Defintely some self expanding foam would get rid of the hollow noise if it was an issue.
