3.5grns of trailboss behind a 60grn is stupidly quiet...... found a 4grn behind 55grn load for the 223 so tweaked it and it works. @Sparrowgun
    75/15/10 black powder matters

Hi all i puled some Belmont 223 subsonic ammo and found they used 4.10 grain Trail Boss under 55 grain projectile ..
you could try some Hornady 45grain Bee H Point x 4.10 grain Trail Bos just subsonic - to 5.50 grain that has a bit of an echo up the valley ..
    cheers

Thanks guys! That helps heaps. Had a go with the TB and some 50gn ZMAX my bro in law gave me. Got yellow tips so I can tell them apart from the 40gn super loads I'll eventually load.

    50gn Zmax with Trailboss - 222REM 10.5" 1:14 barrel of some sort
    4.0gn - 1145fps
    3.7gn - 1125fps
    3.2gn - 970fps - repeated with 3x more to get a group 973, 997, 969.

Looks like they are going through sideways. Shot at 50m, the small squares are 1moa at 50. Was pretty gusty. Maybe 10.5" is too short to get some good stabilisation. I'll load a few more at 3.3gn for some extra speed and extra rpm. Shouldn't clip the suppressor hopefully.

I have counter intuitively mounted an SIII 6-24 on counter intuitive super high rings which makes Wingman go into fetal position. Can't shoot what you can't see haha. I have the same mount on the thermal, no POI shift when I switch them over.

Don't paint your shooting bench white unless you like snow blindness btw. I drilled and tapped the side of the butt for a QD sling socket and stuck one on the left side of the fore end. Seems to sit pretty stable when slung over the front or back, even with the huge scope. Need to hit it with a bit more paint, it's wearing off in a few spots but I kinda like the worn look.

The Magpull MOE+ grip is perfect though would have preferred the OD Green. Soft fitted scope and suppressor and adjusted the cheek piece back a bit just to get a feel for it. Been awhile since I’ve had a pistol grip rifle and you have to really get on this thing, if that makes sense. Getting more comfortable by the day. When I’ve sorted a rail I’ll mount up the red dot and see what the go is with that as I’ve never used one before.

This thing is criminally light and well built, just need to drop the barreled action in and pick a grip.
Cheers @robhughes-games for the great service

    Heya..

How much pic rail do you need for the Mountain bipod. I have a 3 groove M-lok... yours looks like a 7 groove plus...??

Sounds like you have more info than me.. I have a stack of chassis on my bench all waiting for barreled actions to arrive. Did Dave tell you which "Monday"?

Well originally when i ordered and paid i was told a week, which has become a month now. Was supposed to be end of last week but that didnt eventuate and then dave said will be ready this monday just gone. Communication has been piss poor which is frustrating, ive had to initiate it every time, a realistic eta from the beginning would have been nice. Realise its not your fault, would like to just have a realistic eta not another “will be next week mate”

Great to see a business become a victim of their own success with a locally developed and built product. Well done them. Just need to learn the old mantra of under promising and over delivering coupled with prompt communication and things will sort themselves out. Common problem with a lot of small businesses that run lean but haven’t developed some core competencies.
Yes, it can be frustrating but patience is the key, it’s not like it’s a life or death situation if you don’t receive it on the specific day or time. I’d prefer something done well than done in a hurry and it is certainly worth the wait. Hang in there!!

Yes your right its not a life or death situation, however that doesnt excuse the situation. Over promising and not delivering just makes for frustrated customers and a bad reputation. Be honest with the customer dont just say what they want to hear to get them through the door and swipe their card. If i was told a realistic eta from the beginning patience wouldnt be an issue but dont tell me it will be a week, then next week, then the next, then “it will be done monday ill call you when its ready” then not call. Thats just piss poor business.
