Right, just for clarification, it seems that I fixated on the flashy orange compact carry case that Wingman posted a photo of and coupled with the perfect little modular bush gun, I thought all my Christmas’s had come at once. I’ve just gone back to the early part of this thread that bought up the whole discussion on legal length and thoroughly reread Wingman’s reply on the subject. As usual the devil is in the detail. I either missed or forgot the part where he mentioned the takeoff barrel mod which allows you to legally reduce the rifle under 762mm as it negates the ability to discharge the firearm. I was aware that I couldn’t have a folding stock but somehow got it in my head that all was good as the stock required tools to remove and so could break it down for transport.Best not chucked in a pack like that either it would seem.

Ah well, something for another time and back to where I started at this stage. The mods can remove the photo if they so desire but I’m okay with it staying up as it’s a demonstrable lesson in what not to do.
    Cheers all.

Hi just dont panic Mr Mannering
wait for Wingman to start his sales of the Takedown option .. then you have a case already just have to rearrange some blocks
You have done well with your assembly of the above noise tube in a smart case ..
    Cheers to all

Yes, thanks, was exactly where my head went to and I’m very happy with the result so far. Just got so in-grossed with getting everything down to the size I envisioned that I missed an obvious issue.

Youd be ok if somehow the pistol grip and trigger mechanism came off with the butt stock?

I have received my chassis from Rob last Friday. So far I am really pleased with it. Just took it to the range and shoot a sub 1/2 inch group with my 223. The chassis is really well made and very light weight. The only thing I need to point out is that if you use a rear bag the the rear stock does not work well. See the photo attached. Otherwise I really can't fault anything so far. Thanks Rob and wingman for the excellent product!

Good stuff mate, glad you are happy with it. If you find yourself shooting of a bag often give Rob a yell and grab a rider for it. It screws into the accessory port in the bottom of the stock.
I fit mine up for load development or sighting in but the remove it and fit a QD cup for a sling when hunting.

My Elude out doing Elude things. Have owned it quite a while now and it is by a country mile the best bush setup I have ever used. It currently has my Pard thermal scope on top but I have a small Leupold 1.5-5x20 that normally lives there. Video in the link is my son head shooting a small goat at 225m, which is a pretty good effort given its a low magnification and old tech thermal scope! You can only just see the tiny black dot of the goat fall down on the opposite hill.

Anyone put a folding stock on one of these? Sourced a 1913 folding stock adapter anywhere? Keeping a longer barrel & having a lightweight folding stock sounds vaguely appealing
