The new Howa light in the Stocky’s CF stocks are now on sale here at $1399. 2.1? Kg in .308 and 6.5cm. This suggests cf stock prices have some fat in them.

The uk professional price is around the £400 +vat , sold for recommanded retail at £699.
That shows you how much fat there is in them …and who is greedy and who is not.

When you realise that the manufacturing process pretty much all came from nz… it is the snake bitting it’s on tail

I'd be pretty keen to see one of the Kroseg (or Hi-Tec) Howa Mini stocks in the flesh as they are as light as anything that I'm aware of, if anyone in Auckland has one and would be open to letting me check it out please give me a PM?
The original price was $1k which is a lot to put down without actually handling the key interface between rifle and myself.

Apparently the stocks are nasty. Most users of the new superlite have suggested it's hard to tell if it's plastic or carbon, that it's flexy. The superlite seems a miss. The achieved the weight by trimming a barrel giving a terrible stock and giving its the old howa mini plastic fantastic bottom metal. The superlite seems to be a spec sheet chaser.

The early Hi-Tech ones were all around 500 grams, 490-515, the later ones I got were around 550

I am very happy with the the ones I have, haven't had any of the new owners yet to make a comment on them

The Hi Tech howa mini stock I've used was fantastic and I really want one, I also really don't want to pay for one at the new prices.

the lack of stability in the Nz carbon fibre stock market is irritating, none of them seem to last more than a year or 2 without going broke, name changes, etc.

Of course Ken didn't have a choice, RIP

Having some personal experience in composites, I was highly impressed with the workmanship of the one Hi-Tec Tikka stock that I have actually handled. It was the most well-finished and well laid-up CF stock I have come across to be honest, the only equal I have seen is the Sako Carbonlight.
If I wanted a CF Tikka stock I would have got one in a flash, especially with the aluminium drop-in bedding system Ken used.
However the Howa Mini is a different shape and I want to be sure the fit is right for me, length of pull, etc. I'm also fussy about aesthetics and the slight curve along the forend that he added to the new model to save weight puts me off a little. Call me picky.
A little disappointed that it seems the prices have gone up from $1k to $1300+ :/

    I own a Hi-Tec Tikka stock , and for a short while had a Hi-Tec Howa 1500 ( not the mini ) stock on a Howa 308 .
The Tikka stock is much better in my opinion because of the alloy block which the Howa didn’t have .
I also have a Stocky’s Carbon on my Howa 1500 223 20 inch Varmint barrel which I imported into Australia last year .
I had to use a firearms importing company, but all up price was $760.00 au delivered to my door .
I actually really like the Stocky’s, only complaint would be the comb isn’t as high as the Hi-Tec stocks .
I’d buy another one if I had a reason to .
Here’s a pic the bottom rifle is the Hi-Tec Howa , and the top is the Stocky’s.

Haven’t weigh it yet but the original plastic stock feels pretty light on the hand as well. Not much weight saving there I suppose.

Was looking at the GRS laminate hunting stock and those weighs about a kg
