Is there someone using this range finder that could give me a hand. I’m having trouble understanding the load table etc that come in the manual
Cheers

I wouldn't bother using the load table mate just use an app for your firing solution and rangefinder with the tbr turned on to give you your distance.
Okay that’s good thinking. Is it inaccurate? Also what app is recommended
+ to that - plenty of apps or make a printed chart
I just use strelok, the built in ballistic curves work if you can find one that matches your exact load and rifle but it's a lot easier just to use an app that way the firing solution is based on the info you feed it no matter what
Okay I’ll have a look. Do you have the one the reads wind also? I don’t quite understand how that works
I use Strelok as well. Find it very user friendly. Does pay to get in some range time to verify. You can play with the speed or bc a bit to get it spot on. It allows you to print a chart to your specs. I keep a printed chart with my rifle just in case I don't have my phone or it's wet outside.
Do you need to be reloading for that?
No you just need accurate ammo ( factory or handloads ) then you need to know a few details about it, bullet weight, BC ( ballistic coefficient ) , muzzle speed and your sight in distance ( be it 100 or 200 yards / meters ).
You put this into your range finder and it will tell you how many clicks to dial or inches to hold over ( this will work fine under 500 odd yards ) or use any ballistic calculator ( theres plenty of options as aps or online ) and print it out.
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!
Sweet as. That sounds pretty straight forward
Would anyone be able to fill me in on the use of the wind function on this rangefinder?
I have the StrelokPro app now does that do this? I how do I gauge how strong the wind is?
You have to guess and or use a wind meter. If I were you and all new to it I would get out there and forget about the wind for now, get the information together and practice dialling at say 350 then 400 then 450 yards, the wind isn't going to affect you too much at those distances anyhow unless it's blowing a gale. Once you have the knack of the elevation side of things then move onto wind, you can get a cheap meter off trades that will work but be mindful that wind calls take a bit more than just reading a meter where you are shooting from, often wind strength and direction can change several times through the path of your bullet so it's often a case of best guess, read the wind where you are, have a look at some tussock or something further along and ask yourself if you think the wind is the same there as it is where you are etc, an alpine environment can be tricky as there's often only rocks and snow between you and your quarry. Good luck! It's not someth8ng you should expect to be a pro at in a couple of days it takes time and practice and experience
Awesome thanks for your help I’ll get stuck into it and see how it goes
