Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

I had a less than salubrious experience with Leupold's much vaunted service.

I sent an older 5-25 scope direct to them. I phoned and asked them about fitting MK4 turrets. Plus I wanted the windage turret engraved a la Nightforce NXS. (Counting away from zero in both directions) Also asked about servicing the scope. Yes yes thay do that. The tech told me they treat all scopes coming in as warranty claims and give them a complete going over. Obviously mine wasn't a warranty claim but that's what the tech said.

As they claimed they were going to give it warranty check over I didn't bother to clean the lenses which were very dirty.

After 6 weeks time came to pay them and I spent an hour on the phone in a long queue waiting to give myCC details.

Scope arrived and they hadn't engraved as per my request. Lenses were as filthy as when I sent it. As their good going over one would expect they would clean and inspect the lenses?
To give them some credit they sent my the correctly engraved windage turret straight away and I had it a week later.

Finally some good news, after afew more emails with nioa nz (cc nioa aus) and a very blunt final reply for my brother ( this is your company's fuck up, you need get this sorted asap ) nioa aus phoned to say they are sending over a new scope in the next shipment to nz. They can't match the scope but can replace it with a vx3hd 6.5-20x50.
So cheers leupold for finally coming to the party and getting this sorted. It's a shame that it had to turn into a shit fight to get to this

No , you did not get the whole story.
First all of them had been bought second hand on eBay over the years. Cause I am cheap ;-). I needed to get one repaired because I dropped it and broke the back lenses, I needed two cds turrets installed on two others and I needed a clean up on one that had a scratch on the front lense ( operator mistake).
Well the first one and the last ones got complete upgrade of all their lenses from old vx lll to the new vx3, I got my cds turrets installed . All the scopes got a complete clean, test for tracking and sent back.
So no, nothing wrong with the scope as such, but actually an excellent service from the oldest manufacturer of scope in the USA.

That’s shit service from NIOA. Happy to offer an Arken EPL4 6-24 in Moa at cost price if not resolved to your satisfaction.

I can't complain as my old old vx111 went away bung and came back great again. Cost me $80 in courier fees but I suspect(can't prove either way) that was just a tack on by retailer I sent it back through.

I took 2 scopes to the USA with me a few years ago, neither held zero and I wanted a new reticle installed in one.
I got both scopes sent to where I was staying 2 weeks later and no charge, I phoned them to pay for the reticle install, nope no charge.
Can't complain about the service at all

I sent a Kahles into the local agent because the scope tube had turned silver (steel tube), I was the second owner and it looked like a silver scope with blued eye piece.
It came back looking like new blued sxope, awesome service for the cost of shipping.
Can't say the same for Swarovski.
