anyone else notice the difference in recoil between straight stock and pistol grip in the same chambering or is it just me that found my straight stock winny had less recoil than my marlin both 30/30

Getting a little bit of a lever gun urge, and as much as I appreciate the wood, blued and such I don't think I want to spend good coin on a really nice specimen. Something utilitarian that I can bash about in CNI bush and not care too much about, in .44 mag is what I was thinking. Anyone have anything to say about the Citadel Levtac? Good or bad.

I have one in .44. It is very accurate and very easy to carry around.
Mine came with screws that were too short holding the rail on, these got replaced under warranty.
Also if you are going to suppress it the thread goes back a touch from the end cap of the magazine. DPT make a suppressor that is tapered which accommodate this, if not you may need a washer.
I think they are made in the same factory as the Rossi.

It's good that they have come down to realistic prices too. This one was $800 nzd, bore is mint but that probably not the original barrel.

I had a long rummage inside a Model 1876 last year.
Pretty interesting rifle and yes very smooth

But I just can't understand why anyone would want an 1876 with a close coupled double set trigger on it !
That trigger cased a lot of drama and heartache
I'm sure the Winchester collectors like all the bells and whistles on their rifles.
But those sort of factory extras are next level complicated and spare parts do not exist. So avoid them like the plague
