    lightening the load

    looking for some quick advice.

I'm currently running a Bergara b14hmr in 6.5 creedmoor as my main hunting rifle. I absolutely love it, laser accurate, and tough as hell.

it's also 4.2kg as a bare rifle, so if I ever run out of bullets I can just beat the deer to death with it.

what are some lighter alternatives? my main requirements are that it be available in 6.5crd as I have a nice stash of ammunition and cleaning gear that I can't be bothered to replicate, and that it be reasonably accurate.

My Sauer 100 cerakote in 6.5CM is 3.8kg with a 3-9x40 scope, lightweight rings and steel sling swivels. It's sub MOA with factory ammo, so a reloader could get that down further. My 2c

Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.

Tikka or Bergara extreme hunter with light scope. If you have spare $1k throw it in a carbon skirt.

These are bloody good value for what they are. Kimber hunter. Super light, very accurate. Take the goo out of the stock saves 300 grams.

As pictured with 16 inch barrel 1.5-5 vx3, dpt suppressor with blast baffle weighs 2.8kg.

Stupid easy to carry at that weight. Don't overlook the scope weight as well they are easy to save a few hundred grams

Think 55six has one still. Grams for dollars there isn't a better deal.

Rebarrel a Model 7. Or by a Husky 1600 and rebarrel that. The 1600's with the 20" barrel are about 6 1/2lb scoped and loaded. And they shoot!

The new Bergara Crest would be a good option if you want something similar to the HMR but lighter, it's a medium weight barrel with a carbon fiber stock in the same shape as the HMR.
If you want something different then the extreme hunters are another nice rifle from Bergara with plenty of aftermarket support if you want to upgrade/customize it.

A Bergara mountain premier?.....not cheap but cheaper than a carbon light.

Some nice options above, but spendy. I would get a T3 Lite and spend the difference on ammo.
