    Lightweight metric dialable scope options...

Looking for something new for my lightweight 6.5x47L to increase its versatility from a point & shoot rifle to something able to effectively place shots on Chamois etc out to 450-500m. It currently wears a Swarovski Z3 3-9x36, but the new 2.5-10x42 Nightforce has caught my eye... What else is out there?

    Criteria are:
    1. Must be Mil adjustment, with a matching reticle
    2. 2.5-10 or similar power range (even a FFP 1-8 or similar would be an option)
    3. Reliable, proven dialing. I don't want to have to rely on a holdover reticle.
    4. Zero stop is nice
    5. The Nightforce, at 20oz is about as heavy as I want to go.
    6. Not a 34mm tube...

    Cheers

    Nothing

    Mk4? Vortex PST?

The new NF is the biggest let down in being SFP

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be much out there... The SFP of the NF doesn't bother me in this magnification size. If I was to be dialing for a longer shot I would say that 99% of the time the scope would be set at 10x, therefore the reticle would be correct for measuring. Set at 2.5x for close stuff etc I reckon SFP will be advantageous given the more visible reticle.

hmmm, hadn't given the March a thought... Their 1-10 interests me, although I read that its not overly bright in terms of glass... (and from memory it has a 34mm tube)

The new NF 2.5-10x42mm , granted it does not have FFP , but most of the time when shooting long you will have it on max , ie 10x so your holds etc will be on , so its not that bad in my view .
What I want is something along the lines of a 1.5-6x42mm in 30mm tube with nice turrets like the PMIIs , and want with on para & no ilum , nice for most hunting or old school sniper rifles etc .
And if thats not do able in a straight 30mm tube , then still use 30mm tube , BUT step it down to 30mm outside the turret block , aka Zeiss or USO MST-100 etc .

    Later Chris

Why the hang up on MIL?

Surely the shooter app will convert between metric, MOA yards, meters whatever you choose as inputs and outputs?

Sticking to MIL only seams to really limit your choices and just costs more $ to do the same task just for the sake of ''been 21st Century''.
