Until you realise that there is multiple versions of Mil used by different nations at various times

1⁄6400 of a circle in NATO countries.
1⁄6283 The “real” trigonometric unit of angular measurement of a circle in use by telescopic sight manufacturers using (stadiametric) rangefinding in reticles.
1⁄6000 of a circle in the former Soviet Union and Finland (Finland phasing out the standard in favour of the NATO standard).
1⁄6300 of a circle in Sweden. The Swedish term for this is streck, literally "line". Sweden (and Finland) have not been part of NATO nor the Warsaw Pact. Note however that Sweden has changed its map grid systems and angular measurement to those used by NATO, so the "streck" measurement is obsolete.

My son CraigC has that model with hunting turrets and z800 reticle. It's a real nice scope and he is wrapped with it, although because of the reticle he doesn't dial. It didn't seem too hard for him to shoot a Sika at 667yards first time out the other day with me.

Mine is an open box special for 825 usd. It has the clicking lockable turrets and duplex. I will post a link to a good review from a USA forum later. It's going on my 6.5 S&L, and will be used out to 500 odd yards on game and as far as I can see on gongs.

I don't understand you guys using mils. Our fathers and grandfathers fought two world wars to protect us from the metric system. And now you guys have capitulated.

Most things these days are metric. I use it daily at work and my range finder is metric oh and so is my sightron. Nothing wrong with either system as long as you can use it

Just because you use it daily, doesn’t make it right though. You young-uns are just so into fads.

One day there will be a complete reversal and our currency will change back to pounds, shillings, and pence (thats a sort of money we used to have), and the 1,500 meter event at the olympics will revert back to the mile.

I mean, next thing you will be telling me a cricket pitch isn’t 22 yards any more. That would be just plain ridiculous.

Metric is fad. You mark my words.

    I hope you're joking.

Pretty sure America is the only country to use imperial. If so I don't think it'll die out because its a fad.

A mil is a place where you turn trees into 4”x2". OK.

And stop trying to confuse me with statistics.
