Size: 317.5 KB That's the finalish weight. still yet to final sand/polish. yet to put a buttpad on it tho. but to put in perspective it does include the trigger guard... so I'm super happy with the weight.
Looking back at it I'm confident I could have dropped a bit more weight taking more time at the stage of drilling out the butt and the forend... but no regrets for a first attempt... And for those worried about the strength - I have been hunting with a Paulowina stock with only a sealer coat for a year now on my Grendel (Pics in an earlier post. Granted ive not fallen headfirst down a slip face with a deer on my back while carrying the rifle but I don't plan to lol, Last time I did that I landed in A&E and stuffed up the end of a great roar trip

Size: 1.77 MB OK for anyone who wants to give this process a go I have some blanks coming in from my supplier to sell for him on trade me. If you want them directly from here with free shipping just PM me. I can sort sizes according to your needed dimensions. $50 free shipping to metro addresses. Trade me will be $50 plus shipping. This stuff is super easy to work with... however carbon isn't so easy lol.
Having said that, this is the first time I have worked with Carbon and its coming along well. I have worked with fiberglass before when I was at high school when I made a few hockey sticks.

this thread could have another chapter or three if others also have a go and post up results.
THANKYOU for giving us the nudge needed to have a go.
Im sure your blanks will be snapped up.

sanding is a pain lol, getting there. I thinned down the tikka trigger guard to a more traditional look.

Size: 1.19 MB light enough for me. I do have a small touch up on the cheek piece as I sanded too much on the final sand. So ill have to repair that tonight and get it sanded before Mondays drop off to get clear coated
