Thread: Looking for an action for a build

Plenty of 7mm saums run good as in model 7s, if it's that much of a worry get the chamber set back so you can find the lands, that would be an easier option than wildcatting the case

even with only 100 thou of free bore (very short) you still can't seat amaxes in a model 7 7 saum and reach the lands, if you are even mildly ocd about reloading then generally you mess with seating depth

I have been known to miss or maim one load per rifle and a full mag for me

looking for a savage 12 target action, anyone know of one?

My 6.5mm SAUM is built on a Remington 700 short action.

Nicest thing about the Remington 700 I find is the huge range of aftermarket parts available. On my build, the only original Remington parts were the receiver, recoil lug and magazine spring / magazine follower. The bolt, trigger, bottom metal, magazine box and bolt release were all custom, and it was no big effort to get them.

I was wanting to do something a little bit special in my build.
