Yep Vortex Viper PST Gen II is pretty damn awesome, I have a couple both the 3-15x44 & 5-25x50 same glass as the Razor HD which I also have.

So far can't fault them, nice low turrets, good elevation range, as I say pretty damn awesome.

@Doubleshot how does the PST Gen 2 compare to the Razor HD? How do they compare to a Gen 1 PST?

Hey @Beetroot the glass is the same mate, and a great improvement on the Gen I.
I'm going to Auckland on Saturday but heading back Sunday morning via Te Kawhata so will be shooting through Morrinsville to home if you want to see one.

    Cheers Craig

Yeah pretty much does. Not to keen on the G2 reticle, the newer G3 looks ok. Need to get behind one to my mind up.

I went up to the new NZ agents for Athelon last Friday and had a look at their Helos $ Argos (FFP Chinese glass), Midas (SFP & HD chinese glass), Ares (FFP chinese HD) and Cronos (FFP 34mm tube Jap HD Glass)

The Cronus has been getting good reviews and being compared to the Kahles.

Took my Zeiss Conquest MC along for comparison. Conquest still beats the Midas/Areas on optics and apparent field of view but they were close. I'm going to give a Midas a go as I've had a bad run importing scopes from the States lately...I've had to send back a Zeiss, Meopta and Nikon X1000 due to faults and "not fit for purpose"!

Midas 4.5-27 definately better glass than the Nikon X1000 6-24

The NZ Agents went around the sports shops last week, so you should see some on the shops soon.

What were the price indications? That Cronus looks a beauty and the Area also looks a good scope for the money.

Havnt seen the NZ retail price list but think the cronus BTR will go around $3000 and the Midas and Ares around $1200-1300.

It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.
