I have heard anecdotally that the Burris RT6 is a good budget low power scope. Comments are that it is much nicer for the money than the Vortex Strike Eagles and Primary Arms LPVO's. I was seriously looking at grabbing one off Optics Zone but snagged a Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5 for about the same money.
I haven't seen any of the RT6 here.

Keen to have a look at one for my AR in the future

If you are on a tight budget go for the Leupold 1-4x20 or the 1.5-5 if you have more cash both are 1" tubes I prefer the 1.5-5 it has better optics
get the German #4 reticule if you can, My current bush scope is a Khales 2.5 with #4 blows the Leupolds away can easily hit goat size critters at 300 + metres

    For my eyes for bush hunting I'd go for a euro - like older Kahles, Swaro or Zeiss 2-7 x 36 or 1.5-6 x40 (+1 for German #4 or 4a) or a Leupy VX3 2-8 x36.
Most of the 1-4x or 5x or 6x "tactical" offerings only have a 24 mm objective that really limits low light performance compared to larger objectives.
A lot of these "tactical" scopes get around that by adding illum reticles.
But cheap optics and illumination are not a good mix and can compromise performance. You can get a lot of flare off the illuminated "xmas tree" that obstructs you're low light vision.
Best of both worlds in my experience = VX6 2-12x42 with firedot reticle, or the VX5 2-10x42 or VX-R patrol 3-9x40 with firedot.
Another option if you want illum would be the older model Trijicons 3-9x40 with the tritium dot or triangle or Trijicon 2.5-10x56, but that's a pretty big scope. You can find these 2nd hand from time to time.
