Hey I had one of those dot sights a few years ago! The front lens fell out 10/22 is hard on stuff.

Sure is, had a ute with this stupid setup on cam chain tensioner, first I knew about it was the 'tinkle tinkle plop' sound it made on the way down through the engine and then on a dirt bike kick starter as it fired across the forest. Stupid idea.it's a prick of an idea having bearings on springs
Rail is good, I have put the 4x40 back on there till I nut it out. It seems to be the clamps, there's too much of a gap at the top. It grips the rail, but it doesn't nip up when it should, which results in the clamp twisting, which rolls the sight off centre. I have a funny feeling they are the clamps for the picatinny version, might have to look into this possibility.
As for the camo, the stock was sprayed black to begin with, then found a test pot with a good intermediate grey (Taubmans "Luau" in this case) I used an online camo generator (Camouflage generator) to play around with how far to lighten the grey for the third colour. Once I had it all figured out and tinted, I got a craft sponge on a stick (from Spotlight) and mutilated it with some needle-nosed pliers and went to town. Main things with this method is remember to rotate the sponge, and practice on something first to see how much paint you need on it. When that was done I just sprayed it a few times with a matt clear.
