Picked it up today. Paul gave me a spent case. Check it out. Definitely not what I was expecting. Dont know how I didn't notice it at the range, it is a bit dark....any thoughts or ideas? I was hopeful of an easy fix( by a gunsmith as obviously I dont have the skills or knowledge)Name: 20200305_152343.jpg

Well, I believe the gunsmith is in the clear.
The marks on the brass are caused by imperfections in the chamber - which must have been there from the factory. There is no way for that damage to occur during a routine barrel threading job.

Basically, when you fire a round the brass expands to fit the chamber. If there are burrs or imperfection in the chamber, then the brass will expand to the shape of the chamber, taking on any imperfections. Those imperfections then mechanically lock the spent brass in the chamber which is what caused extraction issues.

I think its just a coincidence that the problem only surfaced after you had it threaded.

Contacted the shop I brought it from , sent a pic of the case and the owner said to bring it in and they will sort it. Cheers for the advice though that sounds like a good solution.

I had a wee issue with mine (stock screw too long and impacting on bolt and hence feeding), service was excellent and all sorted within about three weeks.

Chamber will need to be polished, had the same issue with a Ruger American centre fire. Poorly finished chambering job.
