    Mauser M18?

After doing some research, one of these in .308 is near the top of the list. Anyone have one? Thoughts/opinions? Over seas reviews rate them well, but wondering if anyone has any real world experience with them?

No! not if you can find an M12, the 18 is aimed at the budget market - it's intended to compete with M700 and T3 ect. Do the research on M12 vs M18 and get back to me. Might just have an M12 in .308 at sensible money. Silly good shooter with excellent velocity for established loads.

I've got one in another calibre. I have to admit I've only put about 40-50 rounds through it trying out different loads.
Pros-Trigger is sweet, I mean very very nice. It shoots, no doubt about that. Value for money, probably pretty good.
Cons-Magazine/magazine feed is horrible. Stock is "what you see is what you get". Action is OK, bearing in mind I'm used to german slick AF stuff.
It will be/is my sacrificial shooting rifle. I wanted a cheap, knockabout that shoots. It ticks those boxes. Would I do it again? mmmmm, not sure. You can get a nice old Brno etc for that money that will likely hold a bit more value. It is the only plastic in my safe and I have a few.

ThAts a shame about the foibles. I felt the same about the sauer 100 that I had in 6.5prc. I could live with the turn around bolt issue but the mag was a fiddly fit that could not be remedied so i got a refund and got a tikka

I had to send my Sauer 100 back as well, got the wood one in 223 as I wasn't for the life of me going to buy a tikka.
Damn thing looked great but would only feed the first round and no more, tried other mags , nope. Money back.
Ended up with a .... T3x, accurate and given me no trouble
Maybe these Germans, built to a lower price :ie Lower than the Mauser 12, just arn't up to it.

I've just bought one after reading all the reviews I could find, the trigger and accuracy were a big plus for me and it will get knocked around so fancy looks weren't a requirement, there were no reports of any feeding failures that I've read so will see how it goes, 6.5 PRC so not the most feed friendly cartridge.

Keep us posted mate, I am genuinely interested to see what others think. They can shoot, that's for sure.

The only custom accessories that you can put on them are remington 700 picatinny rails and a suppressor for those that were threaded.

I don't think there should be reliability issues in 308. The trigger is excellent.
