    McMillan Hunters Edge stocks

    Evening,

I am looking for one of these for a Remington 700 short action SPS. Does anyone know of any about or suppliers? I suspect they might be quite expensive but I am hoping not

    Cheers

Yes the finish on some aren’t flash. Uneven carbon and plenty of resin in places. I’ve got a southforts /kiwi composites as well a hunters edge and thats like a piece of aerospace engineering by comparison.

Don't mean to derail the thread but for a short action remmy you are probably going to have to bed your action to the stock as well unlike a T3/T3x that is going to be relatively uniform and can be shot from a stock bedded from a clone/donor action at the factory.

Take a look at PSE composites from Ireland, they make great stocks and will stand behind their product if you find yourself in a bind: https://www.pse-composites.com/collections/hunter-range

Not cheap but good stuff rarely is.

If you saw a Southfort stock or a Ken Henderson stock I suspect you would be impressed. I don’t know the PSE stocks, but our Kiwi ones are certainly far better made and finished than the McMillan ones.

Would very much like to see one in the flesh, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I like the PSE's as they are not a carbon copy (haha) of a factory stock, the ergonomics of their hunting model (called the Multi Purpose) are spot on for me and honestly if the rifle was any lighter I think it would become a lot harder to shoot accurately.

Not sure exactly how they are made but they do not have a carbon weave exterior, more like a hard epoxy outer over a carbon frame.

Needless to say any weight savings are negated the minute you slap a large scope on
