    i had a ruski sks and a mini 30 at the same time, the sks was far more accurate, the 30 was spray and pray

    There is lots of low/no cost tinkering you can do on the mini to improve accuracy if needed.

    Of course the most practical option is a 7.62x39 upper on an AR.

    Took a bit of polishing around the firing pin hole to smooth out the tiny ridge around the hole, I understand most of the 30's have this issue. I used to have about 1 fail every 10 shots, now its about 1 in 50. I use Norinco , something Chinese out of a tin, and Chez tracer. About 2-3in groups from the two types and the tracer about 6-8in.Mine had the little surprise of going auto fire, quite exciting stuff when you were not expecting it. Unfortunately I fixed that just wasn't good for the nerves or the meat.
