Thread: Mix and match Talley Lightweight rings

Had some false starts in getting my kimber 84M sorted in Talley Lightweight rings. Most recent setback was receiving a pack of rings from a gun shop, only to find out the rear rings don't fit (someone apparently swapped out some of the contents at some point). Anyway, seems there are not a lot of high rings around at present.

As a work around, with one good 84M front set at 15mm high, I'm guessing it is possible to use a rear base from a 8400 that is as also 15mm high (the Kimber 8400 medium set has a 12mm front and 15mm rear base, so that should work I reckon.

Am I missing some key reason why I can't mix and match between model numbers?

Hole spacing on the rear bridge of the 84m may be too close for 8400 rings?

Turns out the screw placement is fine, it's the contour of the bigger 8400 receiver that's the problem. Not a close snug fit on the 84M. Ah well, back to the drawing board.
