Thread: Mix and match Talley Lightweight rings

Had some false starts in getting my kimber 84M sorted in Talley Lightweight rings. Most recent setback was receiving a pack of rings from a gun shop, only to find out the rear rings don't fit (someone apparently swapped out some of the contents at some point). Anyway, seems there are not a lot of high rings around at present.

As a work around, with one good 84M front set at 15mm high, I'm guessing it is possible to use a rear base from a 8400 that is as also 15mm high (the Kimber 8400 medium set has a 12mm front and 15mm rear base, so that should work I reckon.

Am I missing some key reason why I can't mix and match between model numbers?
