Mounts needs for a VX5-HD on a non magnum

Looking for a little feedback, validation, confirmation that there is or is no advantage to be gained by mounting a new to me vx5-HD (2-10x42) in 20 moa rings?
The scope will go on a .270, .30/06 or 7mm-08 class rifle with a 200m zero plan. the ZL2 turret gives me 40 moa of elevation.
Are folks finding they need canted rings so as to make sure you have the full two turns after zeroing?

just whack talleys on. Even with a 100m zero on my last 260 I was still getting 34moa~ which is more than enough

How far do you intend to shoot ? If you don't already own the rings and need the extra 20 moa I would have said a 20 moa rail would be a cheaper option if available for your choice of rifle. I have a 338 lap mag with 20 moa rail with vx6-hd and is capable of elevation allowing me to shoot over a km with rifle zeroed at 100 mtrs.

I have the same scope on my mod 7 saum(short barrel so slow) 2pc weaver bases and low rings, 100yd zero and can dial to 600 with room to spare......being only 10x at the top end I’d say no?
    Cheers

The elevation range for that scope is 120 MOA, so you should still be able to dial 40 MOA after zeroing.

Thanks for the input. I didn't think i'd need them and it sounds like their not going to do much for me. Off to talleys we go.
