Here are the cans and a prototype cover. I never built anything with fabrics before so this is mainly about materials selection and thread design to keep as much of the kevlar thread outside the insulation. Please do not consider this cover quality as something I would sell. It is merely a test unit til I can get a pro to sew it up.
Because this can mounts over a brake, I would warranty it for minimum of 2500 rounds 338 LM and would be disappointed if it got fewer than 5000 rounds from it. The can is a real porker at about 275 grams but the extra material went into making the aft section much stronger both for the pressure effects and to minimize the damage to the can if dropped or fallen on when it is dismounted.
I am looking forward to testing the changes between this can and the first one. The first one was quite comfortable to shoot without muffs shooting a variety of ammo through it including about 20 308, 20 300 WM and about 20 338 LM. I don't have the spread sheet in front of me but the muzzle noise was about 141 and the sound at the shooters ear was around 134 from memory. I am hopeful that the new changes will get the muzzle under 139 and the shooters ear to 132.
I did hear from the UK that there is a bit of interest. This can was developed based on requests from there. I fully intend to make a brake and can for other magnums and will keep everyone updated. Thanks for the interest.
